Garrick Malone of Malone Golf Academy hosted the JR Rogers Memorial golf tournament at Nashville National Golf Links, formerly known as Highland Rim, on June 24.
Malone is an alumni of Cheatham County High School and a classmate of the late JR Rogers, who helped coach the Cubs football team.
Rogers, a Tennessee Department of Transportation employee, died in December after he was stuck by a passing car while he was helping a motorist put on a spare tire on I-40.
The tournament was in honor of Rogers, and the proceeds go to his son.
There was a large turnout, with lots of sponsors and prizes for a great cause.
